Are you an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a proven ability in spatial data structures and tools, modern data processing practices and cloud native architectures and services?

Resolve Recruit is partnering with a prominent Commonwealth government agency to find a skilled Senior Software Engineer. This role is pivotal in developing software for the National Seabed Mapping.

As a key member of the technical team, you will provide technical leadership, oversee software development projects and ensure the highest quality of software production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provision of technical advice across the full technical stack from database through to UI
  • Architecture design and software engineering from inception to implementation
  • Delivery of system updates to existing systems based on existing backlogs
  • Development and delivery of improvements to existing science data pipelines and design and development of emerging science data pipelines

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience architecting and refactoring complex applications across web and desktop
  • Ability to work with a business analyst translate requirements into detailed task descriptions
  • Experience working in the spatial industry/working with spatial systems and data
  • Experience working with Python, Javascript, and other programming languages
  • Experience in delivering applications in a cloud setting, specifically AWS
  • Knowledge of and experience with version control and associated processes
